A fresh, Kiwi summer soundtrack created for Four Square stores.
Four Square Radio started with a simple conversation between Andy at Four Square Red Beach and Dan from BrandCast. The idea was straightforward: what if Four Square had its own radio station? One that sounded as good as the stores look and feel? From that chat, a plan was hatched…and Four Square Radio was born.
What is Four Square Radio?
It’s a fun, feel-good pop-up radio channel designed specifically for Four Square stores. The vibe is unmistakably Kiwi – sunshine, road trips, backyard BBQs, and the relaxed, easy-going convenience Four Square is known for.
Here’s what you’ll hear:
50% Kiwi music – the classics, the summer bangers, the new gems 🥝
Four Square-flavoured branding – short, fun station IDs that feel like “us”
Local community notices
This week’s specials woven naturally into the flow (optional)
Potential for supplier messages (could help keep costs low)
Hourly news bulletins in the morning
In other words: it sounds like jandals sticking to hot tar sea, the sizzle of a BBQ, and that feeling of walking into a Four Square on the way to the beach.
Why are we testing this?
Right now, this is a completely grassroots trial to see:
if stores enjoy the sound
if customers respond to it
if there’s appetite for a Four Square-specific media channel
and whether it’s worth taking to Foodstuffs formally
And great news, at this stage, there's no cost for the pilot phase.
